Local developer Ocean Wing Co Ltd has reached an agreement with AccorHotels that will see the company manage a hotel it is working on in Phuket. The MGallery by Sofitel Phuket Patong Resort is currently being built in Phuket’s Patong district, an area that is popular with tourists. The property is scheduled to open either late in 2018 or early in 2019, reports local media.
“We are very pleased to partner with Ocean Wing to open our third hotel in Phuket. Phuket is a key and growing destination. The opening of MGallery by Sofitel Phuket Patong Resort by the 1st quarter of 2019 will add to the Group’s growing portfolio of boutique hotels collection in the region,” says Patrick Basset, Chief Operating Officer for AccorHotels Upper Southeast and Northeast Asia, to the Phuket News.
The hotel is situated on Rat-U-Thit 200 Pi Road and is near the popular Deck Patong. The MGallery By Sofitel Phuket Patong Resort will have a total of 235 rooms and suites as well as an all-day-dining restaurant and 2 bars. A number of wellness and leisure facilities will be located at the property including a fitness centre, a spa, an outdoor pool, and a kids club.
The MGallery by Sofitel Phuket Patong is going to be the 3rd Accor hotel on Phuket when it opens. The company currently operates the Novotel Phuket Vintage Park and the Novotel Phuket Resort. It has a total of 73 hotels in Thailand and over 800 in the Asia Pacific region.
The MGallery by Sofitel brand the new Phuket hotel will operate under is part of a collection of boutique hotels that mix heritage, serenity, and a connection to the location it is in. Other luxury brands in the AccorHotels’ portfolio include Raffles, Sofitel Legend, SO Sofitel, Sofitel, Fairmont, Pullman, and Swissôtel.
