Condomania set to hit Hua Hin

By Andrew Batt:

Hua Hin is set to see more than THB 10 billion worth of new condominium launches during the first quarter on this year.

Sansiri is set to debut three developments worth THB 2.6 billion, while Baan Ratchaprasong will launch the second phase of its Energy Hua Hin project during September following the successful sell-out of the THB 20 billion first phase in 2011.

Prolific developer LPN Development will launch its first project in the city worth THB 2 billion before the end of the year, and SC Asset will launch its second residential development in the city worth an estimated THB 2 billion.

Sansiri President Srettha Thavisin told The Nation newspaper that demand for homes in Hua Hin is growing strongly, noting that all of its condo projects launched there early this year have sold out.

Andrew Batt, International Group Editor of PropertyGuru, said: "We’ve witnessed the trend of developers focusing their attentions on the resorts of Pattaya and, to a lesser extent, Phuket in recent months so it was only a matter of time before Hua Hin came into focus. It’s always been a popular weekend retreat for Bangkok-based Thais and now it looks set to become an equally popular second home destination."
