Singaporeans snap up Bangkok condo units

EXCLUSIVE: Bangkok property was again in the spotlight in Singapore last weekend, with reports of high levels of interest and sales.

TC Green, a freehold mixed-use project located on Rama 9, attracted what Singapore agency Trillion described as “better than expected” interest despite heavy rain on Saturday.

Speaking exclusively to DDProperty.com at the Singapore property exhibition for TC Green, Michael Bok, Division Director of Trillion, said: “It’s true that some of the buyers we’ve seen are looking overseas because of the recent cooling measures.”

Bok added that he’s seeing two very distinct kinds of buyers for Bangkok property.

“The first type of buyers are very familiar with Bangkok whilst the second type don’t know Bangkok at all and visit us to know more about the property investment opportunities that are available,” he said.

Trillion saw a number of deals done for units at TC Green in Singapore last weekend. Bok said: “Buyers have been attracted by the relatively low entry price of S$80,000, plus TC Green’s excellent location.”

He confirmed that his agency has plans to bring more Thailand developers to Singapore this year.
