Follow in The Beatles' footsteps

Asia property buyers will get the chance to follow in the footsteps of The Beatles when a collection of 17 apartments close to the world-famous Abbey Road zebra crossing go on sale in Singapore this weekend.

UK developer Residential Land has created the apartments designed by Argent Design, bringing contemporary, high-specification interiors with Art Deco accents to complement the prestigious red-brick exterior. The apartments range in size from a two-bedroom at 721 sq ft to a three-bedroom of 1,292 sq ft. Prices start at £999,950 and are available through sales agent Knight Frank.

Residential Land has refurbished the apartments to a very high standard. Owners at Manor Apartment will have a choice between two luxurious design palettes, ‘Elegance’ and ‘Brilliance’, both of which have polished oak floors, bespoke kitchen units, crystal lighting, and integrated audio-visual and lighting systems.

Linda Chern, Director International Project Marketing, said: “Since the announcement of the cooling measures by the Singapore Government, we have received more inquiries from well-heeled and discerning clients about investment opportunities abroad, in particular cities like London. These buyers are keen on units that are well designed and in a good location.

“Manor Apartments fits the bill. It is located in St. Johns Wood, which has become a highly sought after area and is now on an equal footing to parts of Chelsea and Kensington. Based on our latest research data we expect to see approximately a 25 percent rise in sales values and 30 percent rise in rental values in the next five years.”

St John’s Wood, where Manor Apartments is located, is one of London’s most popular prime residential areas, with a beautiful high street of boutiques, restaurants and delicatessens. It was inner London’s first suburban residential area, built mainly in the 1820s and 1830s for Londoners who wanted the fashionable apartment lifestyle. The famous Lord’s Cricket Ground is nearby, as are the London Business School and the American School, and a short walk away the celebrity haunts of Primrose Hill and Belsize Park.

Despite St John’s Wood’s leafy, relaxed atmosphere, due to tree-lined streets and proximity to Regent’s Park, it is only five minutes on the London Underground to Bond Street and Mayfair.

The homes at Manor Apartments will be launched in Singapore on February 22 – 24 at a property exhibition which will take place at Four Seasons Hotel.
