A sea facing resort in Koh Samui was recently honoured at the prestigious World Luxury Hotel Awards 2014, scooping the “Luxury Private Pool Villa” award.
The Kanda Residences Samui consists of 36 two- to four-bedroom villas designed in a Thai contemporary style. Each unit offers spacious living and dining areas, large manicured gardens and private pools.
The resort is also easily accessible to the nightlife of Chaweng Beach and the international airport.
“As the winner in the country category, Kanda Residences highlighted the luxury segment of the hotel industry in Thailand and particularly on the tropical island of Koh Samui. Sophisticated travellers are increasingly seeking the privacy and exclusivity of a villa experience, and our collection of pool villas has proved very popular with families and groups of friends,” said resort manager Isara Pangchan, who was on hand to collect the award.
Established in 2006, the awards are split into 50 categories covering lodges, private island resorts, casinos and city hotels around the world.
To ensure the results accurately reflect the views of the hotel industry and the public, the judging process is opened up to global tour operators, travel agents and travellers.
This year’s awards ceremony was held in Cape Town, South Africa and attracted over 1,000 global nominations.
