Overseas investors return to Thailand

2 Apr 2014

Overseas institutional property investors from across Asia have returned to Thailand following the lifting of the emergency decree and the end of the ‘Bangkok Shutdown’ protests.

Nukarn Suwatikul, Associate Director for Investment Services of Colliers International Thailand, told The Bangkok Post her firm has seen eight inquiries from foreign investors in the past two weeks alone.

She said: "After learning that Thai political tensions have relaxed to a certain level after the revocation of the emergency decree and no more Bangkok shutdown, these investors asked us to find potential Thai partners to have a joint venture with.”

Japanese, Chinese, South Koreans and Singaporeans were among the investors, with their interests focusing on industrial estates, hotels and residential developments.
