Jones Lang LaSalle and Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels picked up a trip of awards at last week’s Thailand Property Awards 2012.
The company was named Best Property Management Company and Best Commercial Agent, respectively, while its hotel division also won the Best Agency Deal award in recognition for the outstanding success with the sale of Mövenpick Resort and Spa Karon Beach Phuket.
The Thailand Property Awards, now in its seventh year, is organised by Ensign Media and is widely recognized by Thailand’s real estate industry. The road to gold begins with the nominations by the public and the industry, followed by entry submissions and judging by a panel of professionals. Only one overall winner is awarded in each category.
Whilst the Thailand Property Awards included the Best Property Management Company category for the first year in 2011, this is the second running that the Jones Lang LaSalle has received this industry award.
Jones Lang LaSalle is the largest international property management firm in Thailand, with over 5 million sqm of property and corporate facilities managed, including many high-profile property developments such as SCB Park Plaza, Thailand’s largest commercial complex; Empire Tower, the largest Grade A office building in Bangkok’s CBD; Energy Complex, Thailand’s largest LEED-certified commercial complex; and Millennium Residence, Thailand’s largest prime Grade A condominium development.
This year’s award programme also examined achievements of nominated companies recorded between May 2011 and April 2012. Over the period, Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels successfully concluded the sale of five hotels in Thailand for a combined value of more than THB 9.5 billion. Amongst these was the sale of Mövenpick Resort and Spa Karon Beach Phuket, the largest commercial property transaction recorded in Thailand so far in 2012, for which Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels won the Best Agency Deal category.
Meanwhile, closing commercial leasing deals totalling over 126,000 sqm and the sale of two office buildings worth THB 2.4 billion, Jones Lang LaSalle was named Highly Commended Best Commercial Agent.
These awards represent the latest additions to a portfolio of recognitions the firm has obtained in Thailand this year. Prior to this, Jones Lang LaSalle in Thailand was voted number one overall real estate advisor and consultant, and also won top votes in valuation, agency/letting and research at the Euromoney Real Estate Survey 2012.
