Most complaints about real estate

28 Jul 2014

Thailand’s Office of Consumer Protection Board has revealed that one if four complaints it received during the first six months of this year related to property and real estate.

It reported how home buyers have very high expectations, yet 697 of the 2,843 (or 24.5 percent) of complaints it handled in the first six months of 2014 related to property.

It noted how in the past many complaints related to delays in the delivery of a home, but now that has changed to standards of delivered properties.

The top complaint related to construction standards, how construction was not completed on schedule, and how malfunctions kept occurring once finished.

Other complaints lodged with the office including requests for refunds relating to developers not delivering as promised, and a lack of transparency in the field of property management.
