EXCLUSIVE: Bangkok property buyers will get their first chance to view Canadian property without leaving the kingdom when developer Stone Creek Resorts Inc. brings it’s The Residences at Silvertip Village project to Thailand later this year.

This is believed to be the first Canadian property that will be showcased to Thai property buyers and investors, and comes after similar events in Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai.

The 550-acre master-planned resort, located in Canmore near Calgary, Alberta, features a broad range of amenities such as tennis courts, championship golf courses, an ice rink, swimming pools, along with easy access to ski resorts and other outdoor facilities.

“Canada is ripe for investment by today’s Asian elite,” noted Guy Turcotte, Chief Executive Officer of Stone Creek Resorts, Inc. at press conference in Singapore last week.

“The Residences at Silvertip Village offer all the luxury and appeal of the most exclusive North American and European mountain villages, but with the added security of the sound Canadian and energy backed affluent Alberta economy and a location known for its pristine, untouched beauty”, he added.

Julian Sedgwick, Director and Head of Business Development at Savills, said: “Alberta is a secure and fundamentally solid Canadian real estate market. Property values are rising; with positive cash flow potential exceeding normal market returns. The real beauty of Canmore, Alberta is the awesome scenic amenities. For investors there are two potential tenants’ streams – the vacationers and long term renters.”

Sedgwick, whose company is marketing the project in Southeast Asia, added: “The likely buyers of this project from Thailand will be those who maybe have a portfolio of two or three overseas properties, such as in London, and who are looking for diversification.”

Located next to the Silvertip Golf Clubhouse, Phase One of the project is scheduled to be completed by 2015, and will include The Lancaster Residences Building with 41 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites, as well as The Sienna Residences building with 47 units.

Ranging in size from 500 sq ft to 2,000 sq ft, the units are priced from C$550,000 (THB16.98 million).
